Climate Change:
The Great Debate, Part I

In the scientific community and across the world, a great debate rages over whether or not the world is getting warmer, its possible causes, and what actions need to take place to mitigate or reverse this trend.
On the one hand, many reputable scientists propose that the world's temperature will increase, weather events will increase in frequency and intensity, glaciers will melt, oceans will rise, and the expanse of subtropical deserts in the world will grow.
On the other hand, there are those who disagree with the scientific community. Given that widespread temperature recordkeeping only dates back to the late 1800's, and much of the scientific data to support global warming is based on mathematical models designed to cover millennia, there are many questions about the validity of their findings.
In this first article in a series on this topic, we searched for global warming (2), climate, warming (2), earth warming (3), and world warming (3) in the codes. The numbers in parentheses note the number of spellings we looked at for each term. The findings resulted in 37 diverse codes ranging in length from 13 to 38 letters long.
The codes presented in this article express various points of view. Like excerpts from an unbiased history book, Bible codes cover a broad spectrum of well-known points of view. And many of these viewpoints clash. In presenting these codes, BCD is not attempting to validate any particular stance on the global warming debate. We are reporting on what we find, and what we believe it may be conveying, regardless of the point of view.
The following sampling of codes brings to mind these questions: Is there a conspiracy to convince the general populace that global warming is happening? Are we the cause of global warming? Does global warming causes disease? And will God have mercy on us, and end global warming?

Global Warming
Global Warming is the common term for "the increase in the average temperature of Earth's near-surface air and oceans since the mid-20th century and its projected continuation." We searched for two different spellings for global warming. The first did not yield any results, but the second resulted in four extended codes.
Global Warming (B.2)
Global warming,
to which we are quickly . . .
This code is a bit of tease, as it begins, but does not complete its thought. Any number of endings could be devised for it.
Global Warming (B.3)
They were shocked, or sipped from
the lofty crown of global warming.
This code may express the concern of those who believe global warming is a conspiracy generated to aid those who would gain financially from the new technologies that will need to be created to combat it.

Global warming: What is the memorial
to the blood and the disease?
What is the memorial to the blood and the disease? may point to illness borne from the effects of global warming. On June 26, 2024, NPR conducted a radio interview with Dr. Paul Epstein regarding illness and global warming. The following is an introduction to the interview from NPR's website:
Dr. Paul Epstein is a physician in Boston, and the associate director of the Center for Health and the Global Environment at Harvard Medical School. He's created a niche as an eco-physician, exploring the link between increased illness and global warming. Illnesses such as heatstroke, asthma and allergies are the more obvious outcomes of a warmer and more polluted planet, but Epstein says an increase in infectious diseases such as malaria and West Nile virus may also be linked to the greenhouse effect.

This code might read as though it is part of a conversation between two collaborators who have been pushing the idea of global warming and are waiting for its wide acceptance.
Climate
We searched for the more general term of climate, which resulted in five extended ELSs out of the 10 shortest skips, a 50% return rate.
Climate (1)
The lowly oak tree was ashamed in it,
in the bitter climate that was imported.
In the Bible, the oak tree is a symbol or "type of the bitterness of sorrow over death."1 This code may refer to deaths caused by a harsh or bitter climate change.
Climate (2)
They cried woe, surrounded by the climate
she will be alone in stopping hashish.
This code may point to changing climate inflicting woe, creating chaos or anarchy, and/or causing someone or some group (she) to be alone in stopping the sale of illegal drugs.
Climate (3)
God is with me and inside me.
God has rushed and struck.
Fly away, salty climate,
and give it so that its flame goes out.
Fly away, salty climate could refer to changes of the salinity of the oceans due to climate change.
Now, new research coming out of the United Kingdom (U.K.) suggests that the amount of salt in seawater is varying in direct response to man-made climate change. (PhysOrg.com)
This code is the longest of this collection at 38 letters long.
Climate (4)
The weather is glum. God is its lightning.
God is its lightning might be expressing the point of view that God is sovereign over climate change.
Climate (7)
A high climate is a sign and our guide,
with whom we have over-extended the measure.
This code sounds like it came from a speech by Al Gore. It expresses that global warming is a sign and our guide that we have over-extended or exceeded the amount of greenhouse gasses that we can generate without adversely affecting the environment.
Warming
We searched for two different spellings of warming, resulting in a 50% return rate for extended ELSs.
Warming (A.2)
My navy is fatigued,
where is warming?
In an article dated July 31, 2024, posted to the U.S. Dept. of Defense website, it is noted that Rear Adm. David Titley, the Navy's senior oceanographer, has been appointed to head a task force to assess the Navy's readiness to deal with global warming. This code suggests that the navy could be fatigued or exhausted in its efforts. Where is warming? might imply that global warming has not clearly been happening.
Warming (A.4)
It is time for warming over there.
Strike over there and establish the fruit of his heart,
indeed the sect of my oil.
Fruit is a symbol of blessing and abundance (Jeremiah 17:7-8), or it is the result of the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives (Galatians 5:22-23). Oil may be literal, or it may be symbolic of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 25:1-13). This code may be referring to someone or some country calling for an attack on a region for its oil, or it might be from God's point of view describing his direction for the weather and provision of abundance or the Holy Spirit.
Warming (A.9)
Hurry up, I have had enough.
They are the water of the vapor of the echo.
Did he cause a warming?
This code may depict a meeting or situation where one person has had enough and is accusing another of causing global warming. The mention of water brings to mind concerns over water quality, as it might be affected during climate change.
Warming (A.10)
It is time that the majority
also control the warming.
Currently, the Democrats hold the majority in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. It is time that the majority also control the warming could be a call for Democrats to take measures to control global warming.
Warming (B.1)
He has created it nicely,
and the warming of its cells has progressed.
The Lord loves the island: sky, the light, and fire.
This code brings to mind Genesis 1, and may be a description of God creating the world.
Warming (B.2)
For chaos will reign the warming of heaps of weed,
and it was sealed.
For chaos will reign is a grim beginning for this code, which may point to the warming of plant life on the earth, as the Hebrew for weed can also mean grass.
Warming (B.3)
The pathos of his struggle is hollow,
fire will aim at their waist,
and warming occurs there.
The language in this 30-letter-long code is very poetic. The pathos of his struggle is hollow depicts a sadness and futility of effort. Fire can be symbolic of God's judgment. It can also be literal, as in a destructive force, or as a constructive force, as in the use of fire for cooking or heating. Warming in this code may or may not refer to global warming.
Warming (B.8)
What is their flaw?
Let the illuminated warming
in her be for us.
Depending on the point of view of the code, and whether or not it refers to global warming, their flaw might refer to man creating environmental damage leading to global warming, or it might refer to allegedly erroneous conclusions regarding global warming in the scientific community.
Warming (B.9)
To shoot warming toward her,
but the glory and the fire exist.
When Moses was in the desert, the angel of the LORD appeared to him as burning bush. The glory and the fire sounds very much like a description of God revealing himself in this manner.
Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.
And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. (Exodus 3:1-2, NKJV)
When Moses went to look closer, the LORD called out from within the bush to him and commissioned him to go to Pharaoh and obtain the release of the enslaved Israelites.
"Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt." (Exodus 3:10, NKJV)
If the her in this code is the earth, than to shoot warming toward her could be a command to allow global warming, but the second half of the codes seems to be a reassuring expression of God's sovereignty: the glory and the fire exist.
Warming (B.10)
Where will you be charged with me?
And I, the poor one, will be warmed.
Where will you be charged with me? might refer to someone being charged with a crime. And I, the poor one, will be warmed may describe those in poverty being at greater risk for exposure to global warming.
Earth Warming
We searched for three different spellings of earth warming. One of them did not yield any results, but the other two resulted in a 50% return on extended ELSs.
Earth Warming (A.1)
They cheated, and the page was impoverished.
Thus ended the earth warming.
This code may refer to the charges that the scientific community has altered their findings to support the global warming theory. According to Wikipedia, a 1990 U.K. documentary was an early critic of the theory:
The Greenhouse Conspiracy is a documentary film broadcast by Channel 4 in the United Kingdom on 12 August 1990, as part of the Equinox series, which criticised the theory of global warming and asserted that scientists critical of global warming theory were denied funding. It is one of the earliest instances of the suggestion of a conspiracy to promote false claims supporting global warming. Although the title of the program implied the existence of a conspiracy, when interviewed on the program Patrick Michaels played down the idea, saying, "It may not quite add up to a conspiracy, but certainly a coalition of interests has promoted the greenhouse theory: scientists have needed funds, the media a story, and governments a worthy cause."
Earth Warming (A.5)
Their sea undergoes hot desert weather,
and you are green—earth warming.
As we mentioned under Climate (3), the seas could undergo changes in salinity due to global warming. Rising ocean temperatures and changes in salinity could foster marked growth in kelp beds and algae concentrations—making parts of various seas more green.
Earth Warming (A.6)
The editor of his expression
strongly wants me to weaken
the heart of him who swallowed earth warming.
This code may be from the point of view of someone who is trying to use written persuasion (the editor of his expression) to weaken the stance of those who believe in global warming (the heart of him who swallowed earth warming).
Earth Warming (A.7)
Earth warming shone
as the ancient times of my light.
The language of this code appears to have an omniscient point of view. It might be God comparing earth warming to the time when He created light.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day. (Genesis 1:1-5, NKJV)
Earth Warming (B.1)
My side of the truth has wandered.
The earth warming is not within me,
and my light is theirs.
My side of the truth has wandered is poetic, as though truth had different sides to it (as opposed to there being a single truth), and had legs and could wander off.
Earth Warming (B.2)
God the father has stirred within me
the echo of Job. The earth warming is
his obligation to Rome.
The echo of Job may refer to Job's sufferings or it may refer to his steadfast trust in and love of God.
Rome may symbolize the nation of Italy, the mythology behind the establishment of Rome (i.e., Romulus and Remus), or it may symbolize the Catholic Church, since residing within Rome is Vatican City, an independent city-state presided over by the Pope.
For Christians, it symbolizes three centuries of persecution of the faith in the Roman Empire, with Rome as its seat of government.
The meaning of the earth warming is his obligation to Rome would be contingent on the symbolism of Rome, but it may refer to persecution of Christians, much as Satan persecuted Job.
Earth Warming (B.4)
He cried:
Is the warming of the earth complete?
And God bowed.
This code brings to mind a conversation between God and Satan, much like in the Book of Job.
In one scenario, we imagine the devil is asking God is the warming of the earth complete?, and God replies with a bow, as if to say, it is complete. It implies that God is the author of the warming, and Satan is a bystander.
Another interpretation might be that Satan is the author of the warming, and though it is not yet complete, God's bowing is an expression of sorrow over the effects of warming on His Creation.
Earth Warming (B.5)
The Lord has mercy, and indeed
the warming of the earth will cease.
The meaning of this code may be that God will have mercy and will intervene resulting in a cessation of the warming of the earth. We are reminded that God's mercy is at His discretion during this encounter between God and Moses:
And the LORD said, "I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. (Exodus 33:19, NIV)
Earth Warming (B.7)
Listen, will he dare any hip?
And strike earth warming.
The word hip can also mean thigh in Hebrew. This code may refer to the custom of one placing a hand under the thigh of another while taking an oath as depicted in Genesis 24:1-3.
Abraham was now old and well advanced in years, and the LORD had blessed him in every way. He said to the chief servant in his household, the one in charge of all that he had, "Put your hand under my thigh. I want you to swear by the LORD, the God of heaven and the God of earth, that you will not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I am living." (NIV)
If so, this code might be describing a broken oath resulting in earth warming.
In Genesis 1:26-31, God gave man "dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." (28b) In addition, He provided "every green herb for food." (30b) Perhaps man has broken faith with God by not taking care of all he has been given.
Earth Warming (B.8)
And to her with my God is
the heart of earth warming.
This code seems to anthropomorphize global warming by giving it a heart, or it may be saying that God is at the center of earth warming. It is unclear who the pronoun her refers to.
World Warming
We searched for three different spellings of world warming. One did not yield any results, but the other two did. Of those two spellings, there was a 50% return on finding extended ELSs.
World Warming (A.1)
Singing youth moves,
world warming will stay.
This curious code brings to mind a singing group traveling the world to spread the message of world warming, but in the end not being able to make a difference.
World Warming (A.9)
And illuminate God’s gift
in the mouth of world warming.
This code may imply that at the center of issue of world warming is a gift or a benefit from God that will come to light in time.
World Warming (B.1)
Worn out is the ridge of world warming,
where she (the world) died pretty.
This dismal code would seem to espouse the position that unchecked world warming would cause life on earth to die. The word for pretty in the Hebrew can also mean proper.
World Warming (B.3)
For without the sky which is high within me
is the day of world warming.
For without the sky might imply that world warming would lead to situations that cause the sky to be blotted out from view, such as the recent volcanic activity in Iceland, which sent an ash cloud into the sky disrupting European air travel.
World Warming (B.4)
Wait, ascend, for thus is the world warming—
thus supporting your name within me.
World Warming (B.5)
Descend, provide his field with world warming.
These codes have the words ascend and descend in them. These two codes might reflect God allowing action by the devil (as He allowed with Job), or giving direction to the Holy Spirit regarding world warming.
World Warming (B.7)
And the world warming is not for me.
The mouth is selecting, but the tooth is stunned.
The first sentence, and the world warming is not for me, may mean the speaker has decided he does not believe in global warming, and the second, the mouth is selecting, but the tooth is stunned, seems to point to the conflicting thoughts that led the person to make that decision.
World Warming (B.9)
World warming has dimmed
the growl of their word.
The growl of their word may imply that the fervor of expression in the opposition has dimmed due to the mounting evidence of global warming.
Concluding Remarks
This diverse collection of 37 codes expresses not only the well-known points of view regarding the debate over climate change, but in addition codes like the Lord has mercy, and indeed the warming of the earth will cease point to God's mercy toward us and His sovereignty over global warming.
